Final Statistics from the 2009 Fall Season

NKSA teams went 80-39-17 in the fall season, for a winning percentage of .651

10 of the club's 20 teams this fall finished in either 1st or 2nd place in their division and should be moving up to the next division in the spring.

2 other teams finished tied for 2nd but fell to 3rd based on either head-to-head results or goal differential.

In the 137 league games played, NKSA teams outscored their opponents 396-235 (2.9 goals per game average scored vs. 1.7 goals per game average allowed)

If you look only at the full club teams (those that take advantage of the NKSA professional training staff), our winning percentage jumps to .688 on a record of 60-24-12. 7 of these 14 teams will be moving up a division (or more) in the spring. Our goals per game averages work out to 3.2 goals for vs. 1.7 goals against over 90 games played.

In addition, I'm very proud to say that NKSA did not have any red cards issued in the fall to any of our players or coaches. This says a lot about our sportsmanship (and sportswomanship) and is something that I take particular pride in.

Veterans Invitational Champions 4-0!

Huge congratulations to our U12 Mustangs coached by Joe Kim and trained by Eric Busener. They traveled out to a very competitive tournament in Evansville, I this past weekend and came back with the 1st place trophies in tow!

The girls had a tremendous weekend. They went 4-0, only letting 1 goal go in all weekend. The final scores were - 3-1 against a St. Louis team, 3-0 against a Western KY team, 4-0 against a Brentwood TN team. The championship score was 2-0 against a Hendersonville TN team.

Great work girls - NKSA is very proud of your accomplishments and we're certain that you'll keep playing great soccer each time out on the field!

Get down with ODP (Olympic Development Program)

On Halloween Day in Louisville, over 600 players came together on a rain soaked field to compete for a place on the 2009 - 2010 Olympic Development Program. Players in the 1994 - 1998 age group are fighting for the opportunity to train, compete and potentially representing Kentucky at state and regional events.

If you couldn't make the October 31st tryout in Louisville for any reason and are still interested in participating, please come Saturday, November 14 to Masterson Station Park in Lexington. On-line registration is not available - you will need to register onsite for $80. Please plan on arriving 45 minutes prior to the beginning of the tryout to fill out the proper paperwork.

Coaching Education Opportunitites

Coaches -

If you need to get your certification before the Spring Season begins, there are new opportunities for you to do so here in Northern Kentucky.

An E license course will be held December 5th & 6th at Town & Country.

A D license course will be held the weekends of January 22nd and January 29th, also at Town & Country

Kentucky Youth Soccer requires select coaches to have age appropriate soccer education - this is a great opportunity to get yours in between seasons.

Game Day Field Status for Sunday Nov 1st, 2009

All games should be played as scheduled - if you have a spare bag of sand or mulch at home and can take it to the field so we can use it between games to clean up and dry up muddy spots on the field, we'd greatly appreciate it.

Success all around this weekend!

What a great weekend it was for NKSA teams! Four champions and two finalists at the STAR invitational, a finalist at the Nightmare on the Rock regional tournament in Indianapolis, and as the league season winds down we have 10 of our 20 teams sitting in 1st or 2nd place in their respective divisions!

Well have more information posted ASAP for all the teams and remind everyone that's not yet part of the club that tryouts for the spring season are just around the corner - Tues 10/27, Sat 10/31, and Tues 11/3!

NKSA has teamed up with TGI Friday's on Turkeyfoot Rd and Karlo's Bistro Italia on Houston Rd for a fun, fantastic, fall fundraiser!

On Monday Oct 26th and Tuesday Oct 27th, NKSA invites you and your family and friends to enjoy lunch or dinner out at one of these fantastic restaurants.
