Another Catch-All Tryout - U11/U12 Girls, U13 Boys, U9/10 Boys
In an effort to fill out the rosters of some of our teams, we will be holding an additional tryout on Monday 7/6 at 6pm at Pioneer Park.
Specifically, we're looking for U11/U12 girls (born between 8/1/97 & 7/31/99), U13 Boys (born between 8/1/96 & 7/31/97) and U9/U10 Boys (born between 8/1/99 & 7/31/2001)
If you're interested, or know anyone else that might interested, please have them come out on Monday night. We'll have a simple form to fill out, then run a training session for about 60-75 minutes so we can get a good look at the kids and how well they play.
It'll be fun, fast-paced, and hopefully we'll find some spots for some kids to play soccer with us this year.
Hope to see you on Monday!

Back from Vacation
Hey everyone -
I'm back from vacation and catching up on things at work for the next couple of days.
I'll really get into soccer related stuff on Friday so if you have questions they'll probably need to wait until then.
And I know the nksoccer.com website is down - the server got zapped by lightning last week and is out for a while. I've got to find a new server and a new web designer while I'm at it.
Thanks
Rob

Catch-All Tryout - Thursday 6pm - Freedom Park
We've had a number of people call or e-mail us indicating they were still looking for a team to play on this fall and/or spring, so we're going to be holding a supplemental "catch-all" tryout this Thursday at 6pm at Freedom Park in Edgewood
The tryout will be different than most in that it will have boys and girls of multiple ages trying out together - we'll divide the kids up into age appropriate groups based on who shows up. We'll have the kids work on their individual skills and then progress up to small sided and small group games. The whole process should take about an hour.
Afterwards, we'll determine if we have open slots that each player could fit into and get abck in touch with everyone via e-mail on Friday.
In the event of inclement weather we will post the cancellation notice here on the blog no later than 4pm Thursday

Catching up on some late season congratulations!
In league play, NKSA ended the season with 4 division winners and 2 division runners-up. Congratulations to those teams who will move up a division the next time they take the pitch for league play.
We had a great first season in CUSL and it's only going to get better as we move forward! Keep up the great work, dedication, and determination - it's the players, coaches and trainers that make NKSA such a great club!

TRYOUT RESULTS - NOW AVAILABLE
We have very nearly finalized our tryout results for 2009-2010 - most rosters have been finalized and posted, and we expect to have the final couple of rosters posted late tonight or early tomorrow.
Results can be found here: http://nksatryoutresults.blogspot.com/
Find the appropriate age team listed on the right side of the blog, and click the link
If your child is not listed, then we do not have a position open for them at this time. We are beginning the process of making those phone calls tonight, and as you might expect, they tend to take longer than the congratulatory phone calls. If we don't call you tonight, we will continue making these phone calls tomorrow.
Thank you for your patience. If you have any questions, please call 859-653-3161 or e-mail nksa.soccer@yahoo.com

Congratulations - NKSA U15 Girls - 1st Place, CUSL Third Division
NKSA is very proud to announce that our U15 girls team, coached by Dave Kraus, has captured 1st place in CUSL's Third Division for Spring 2009. With one game remaining in their season, the team has an insurmountable 6 point lead over their nearest rivals, guaranteeing them a well-deserved promotion to the Second Division next spring.
Thru 7 games, these girls have won 5, lost 0, and tied 2, giving up only 6 goals on the season. Thanks and congratulations, ladies, on an outstanding initial season together. We look forward to more success to come your way next spring; in the meantime, enjoy the HS season this fall and finish strong in your last game this Spring!
We're very proud of your hard work and dedication!

Congratulations - NKSA U14 Boys - 1st Place, CUSL Fourth Division
Congratulations to the U14 Outlaws, coached by Bruce Trusty and trained by Eric Busener, for capping off their initial season with a 2-0 victory over the KSA Premier B94. The victory avenged an earlier season loss for the Outlaws, and also secured for them 1st place in CUSL's Fourth Division for the Spring of 2009.
The Outlaws wrapped up their first season with a final record of 5 wins and 1 loss and have earned a promotion to the third division next Spring, when the team returns to select soccer as U15 players. Good luck to all of the Outlaws this fall at HS Soccer and we look forward to seeing you all back on the pitch again next year!
